Back to top ↑Using the Keyword Deduplicator is straightforward, but understanding its features will help you get the most out of the tool.
There are three ways to add keywords to the tool:
The tool expects one keyword or phrase per line. Here's what gets automatically cleaned:
The tool automatically:
Controls whether the tool treats uppercase and lowercase letters as different:
When enabled, the final deduplicated list will be sorted alphabetically. This is applied after deduplication, so the first occurrence of each unique keyword is what gets sorted.
A visual aid that adds background colors to the input and output areas:
The tool uses several methods to process your keywords:
The tool provides real-time statistics:
Click "Show duplicates" to see which keywords had duplicates and how many times each appeared. This helps you understand what was removed and verify the deduplication process.
Toggle between light and dark themes using the theme button. Your preference is automatically saved and remembered for future sessions.
The Reset button clears all inputs, outputs, and statistics, returning the tool to its initial state. This also resets file inputs and button states.
The tool works in all modern browsers including:
If the "Paste" button doesn't work:
Yes, the Keyword Deduplicator is completely free to use with no limitations on the number of keywords or frequency of use.
No, the tool works entirely in your browser without requiring any account creation or login.
While there's no hard limit, the tool is optimized for typical use cases involving thousands of keywords. Very large lists (100k+ items) may take longer to process but should still work.
All processing happens locally in your browser. Your keywords are never sent to any server or external service.
No, your keyword data is not stored. Only your theme preference (light/dark) is saved locally in your browser.
Once the page is loaded, the core functionality works offline. However, you need an internet connection to initially load the tool.
Currently, only .txt (plain text) files are supported for upload. However, you can copy and paste from any source, including Excel, Google Sheets, Word, or web pages.
When case sensitivity is disabled (default), "Marketing" and "marketing" are treated as duplicates, and the first occurrence is kept. When enabled, they're treated as separate keywords.
All Unicode characters, including special characters and emojis, are preserved in the output. The tool only removes duplicates without modifying the actual content.
Duplicates are determined after cleaning each line (removing numbering, extra whitespace, etc.). The comparison is then done based on the case sensitivity setting.
Automatic processing occurs when you paste content. If it's not working, try clicking the "Remove duplicates" button manually or using Ctrl+Enter.
The original input remains unchanged. If you need to start over, click the "Reset" button to clear everything.
Click the "Show duplicates" button to see a list of keywords that had multiple occurrences, along with their counts.
The tool processes one list at a time. To process multiple lists, you'll need to run them through separately or combine them first.
Downloads are saved as plain text (.txt) files with one keyword per line, using UTF-8 encoding.
Try selecting all text in the output area and copying manually (Ctrl+C). Some browsers may require permission for clipboard access.
Currently, only the deduplicated list can be exported. The duplicate analysis is for display purposes only.
Check your case sensitivity setting. Also, remember that the tool cleans lines by removing numbering and extra whitespace, which might make seemingly different lines identical.
Ensure your file is in plain text format (.txt). Files created in Word or other rich text editors should be saved as plain text first.
Try refreshing the page. The theme preference should be automatically saved and restored.
